Position Title: Security & Technology Specialist, IP Protection & Security
Reporting To: Director, Security & Technology
Location: Washington, D.C.
As Security and Technology Specialist, you will engage in extensive monitoring of video game infringement on various Internet platforms and protocols, conduct detailed and complex investigations into methods and specific instances of infringement, participate in communications with internal members, external law enforcement partners and other entities; regarding infringing, and develop resources that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of current enforcement strategies through data driven analysis.
This position actively works alongside other IPPS team members to mitigate infringing activity on behalf of member companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analyzing illegal games and related products, helping to develop and maintain databases that provide members with information pertaining to infringement trends in our industry, developing web crawlers to gather online information, creating applications to enhance and extend IP protection activities, generating reports using data from a variety of sources, and working with member companies to obtain information regarding their intellectual property. Internal security and technical projects will also be prioritized to support business activities.
Qualified candidates will offer a bachelor’s degree, preferably in information technology systems, computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of two years of experience working collaboratively in a work environment. This position requires comfortable working knowledge of Windows and Linux environments and extensive knowledge of Internet protocols (HTTP, FTP, Usenet, Peer-to-Peer networks, etc.) and of intellectual property infringement.
